Remote
October 19, 2026
Phoenix Operations Group is seeking a Senior Full Stack AWS Engineer with deep AWS expertise to support a federal program by designing, building, and operating scalable, secure, cloud-native applications end to end. This role owns features from the user interface through APIs, data, and infrastructure; partners closely with product and design; and sets technical direction for the team through architecture, code review, and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full stack web applications using modern front-end frameworks (React/TypeScript) and back-end services (Node.js, Python, Java, or Go).
- Architect and implement cloud-native solutions on AWS, including serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions) and containerized (ECS/Fargate, EKS) workloads.
- Build and manage infrastructure as code using AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
- Design data models and integrate with AWS data services such as RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, S3, and ElastiCache.
- Build event-driven and asynchronous systems with SQS, SNS, EventBridge, and Kinesis.
- Own CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, or similar) enabling frequent, reliable releases.
- Apply security best practices: IAM least privilege, Cognito/OAuth2 authentication, secrets management, encryption, and vulnerability remediation.
- Implement observability with CloudWatch, X-Ray, and/or third-party tools; participate in on-call rotation and lead incident resolution and post-mortems.
- Optimize applications for performance, reliability, and cost (AWS Well-Architected Framework).
- Lead technical design reviews, write design documents, and drive architectural decisions.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pairing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
